DAP's 45-Hour Domestic Violence Training for Volunteers
Domestic Violence Training for Volunteers introduces volunteers to the Agency's mission, organizational structure, services and the psycho-educational dynamics of domestic violence. Volunteers have the opportunity to learn about DAP's programs: Counseling, Legal, Medical Advocacy, Education/Prevention, Hotline and Emergency Shelter. An additional 8-hour training is required for those who wish to work with children at DAP's Emergency Shelter.
Each year a minimum of two (2) trainings are provided, in the Spring and Summer, either during the day or in the evening. This training is required for volunteers who wish to provide direct service to victims. Upon completion of the training, volunteers may choose one or more programs in which to volunteer. Additional on-site training takes place upon completion of the 45-Hour Domestic Violence Training.
